AMERICAN SPACER HISTORY

2017 - PARTNERED WITH A NON-PROFIT

July of 2017 ASTI made a business decision to partner with a local non-profit organization in Columbia County that serves our handicapped society and disabled veterans while providing jobs in the injection molding industry manufacturing our products.  This was a WIN/WIN for us and the agency because the more order requests we give the agency, the more dollars go to the services provided to our local handicapped society.

1990 - PURCHASED
AMERICAN TECHNOLOGIES

American Spacer Technologies Inc. was formed with the 2008 purchase of the H & H Hulls Company, which had been doing business in the plastic injection molding industry for the past 46 years, committed to customer satisfaction, quality and cost-effective pricing.

Since 2008, when H & H Hulls was sold to American Spacer Technologies Inc., owned by Paul and Kathleen D’Onofrio, we have continued to specialize in the chair and spacer manufacturing industry, with an emphasis on custom molding for the larger precast companies. Our engineering technology provides new methods that support rebar and mesh in large prestress and precast forms, allowing companies to save valuable time and material costs.

2021 - NEW WEBSITE LAUNCHED

We invite you to browse through our website, view our extensive product line, contact us for pricing, questions, and any custom molding that your company may require. Thanks.

2008 - AMERICAN SPACER TECHNOLOGIES PATENTS

ASTI also holds two patents for two configurations of our mid-span spreader. These allow electricians and power utility crews to install and/or separate electrical conductors mid-span from pole to pole for service taps to commercial or residential customers with UV protected materials. This provides extended service life of the spreader in all weather conditions.

1974 - COMPANY FOUNDED

The H & H Hulls Company began in 1974 in a Long Island basement with two business partners, Arthur Hube and Tom Halpin, and two small hand pump injection molding machines. Within a year they turned a part-time business into a full-time venture, quit their other jobs, and moved to Columbia County in upstate NY to a small town called Greenport, outside the City of Hudson.

They rented space from a local machining business, then purchased the existing facility located on the industrial tract in Greenport. They also ventured into boatmaking, and thus the name “H & H Hulls” was born. Soon they realized that plastic molding and custom mold making was their true strength, and they found their niche in the concrete world, manufacturing plastic chairs and spacers that support wire mesh and steel rebar. As their business grew, so did the facility, to its existing size of 8,000 square feet.
